Athlete goes Artsy

I started painting when I was dealing with burnout symptoms. During that time, I had to take a break from competitive sports, which had been a major part of my life. I’ve always been a creative person and had painted occasionally before, but it was only then that I truly had the time and emotional need to dive into it fully.

Painting became a way for me to express my emotions and to channel what I used to express through sports, just in a different way. When I start something I enjoy, I usually go all in — that’s just how I am, I guess! The Athlete in me.

Although I’ll always carry the competitive athlete spirit within me, I now see art as an opportunity to get to know myself in a completely different way.
Before, everything was measurable — every second, every centimeter mattered. Art is subjective, so what does "good" even mean? I’m learning to trust myself more and not depend on external standards. It’s not always easy, but thankfully, I love challenges!
